I love creating ceramics that put the fun in functionality! I dabble in both hand building and wheel throwing, often using underglazes and resists to decorate my pieces in intricate and hand-drawn layers. I also like to use my art to engage with my community, with designs invoking feminist and pro-mental-health ideals. Above all, I love that my pottery brings joy to those who see and use it.

For me, working with clay on the pottery wheel is a meditative escape from the busyness of life. It's also just plain fun to get your hands dirty and make something for yourself or to share with others. I will help you learn the basics of wheel throwing while exploring your creativity through clay in a relaxed environment.

Working with clay has been the perfect blend of that childhood joy of playing in the mud and the fulfillment to be had in creating. I enjoy both throwing and hand building, and I love making pieces that combine whimsy with function. I want to help as many people as possible get their hands dirty and experience the satisfaction of making something beautiful.

As an artist and art therapist, I find art making to be healing and I often use my own art in this way. I create pieces that are heavily influenced by nature and botanical themes through an abstracted lens to express my lived experience. I often hand build with clay because I prefer organic shapes in my work but I am also experienced in wheel throwing. My goal is to continue growing as an artist and to help others find healing through their own personal art making.
